Facilities
Reminiscent of the old clinker boats that coastal communities have used to store tools and nets, most notably on Northumberland’s own Lindisfarne Island, our glamping cabins are designed to resemble upturned fishing boats – but with all the home comforts that have created a beautiful all season living space. Our cabins are named after fields and fell-land on our farm, they are:
- Blackcleugh – This is the woodland and hayfield towards the Cart’s Bog.
- Wheatley’s – The hayfield beyond the Cart’s Bog with the white cottage in the corner.
- Humbleton – 100acre fell land beyond the mast up the hill.
- The Wonneys – Land up the hill towards the chimney flue.
- The Rushy Lot – This is the field North of the lake beyond the workshop where our cabins were built (and also is full of rushes!!).
- Bare Bones – This is up the bank opposite Langley Castle, one of the fields which the John Martin walking trail passes through.

These cabins can sleep 4 adults with a fixed king-size double bed, complete with a proper comfortable mattress, and there is also a bunk above the double bed that is suitable for children under 12 only, enabling a family of 5 to be accommodated. There is also a double sofa bed, king size with a luxury foam mattress.
The Bare Bones cabin that does not allow dogs to stay at any time, so if you are an allergy sufferer this is the cabin for you. Dogs are allowed to stay in Blackleugh and Wheatleys.
These cabins can sleep 4 adults with a fixed king-size double bed, complete with a proper comfortable mattress. The bed area can be curtained off from the rest of the living area where there is a double sofa bed, king size with a luxury foam mattress.
The Wonneys is a cabin that does not allow dogs to stay at any time, so if you are an allergy sufferer this is the cabin for you. The Rushy Lot has the same design but is a dog friendly cabin.
Humbleton is our cabin that is designed to also be accessible to anyone with mobility needs.
It has a wheelchair accessible shower room with floor level shower tray, higher toilet seat and grab rails. We have designed the accommodation to ensure there are 1.5m turning circles in all the right places! The cabin sleeps 4 people in 2 fixed single beds – one of which has side access, and a king size double sofa bed. If you have older children who are unwilling to share a double bed, this may also be the cabin for you!
All the cabins can sleep up to four guests. Blackcleugh and Wheatleys also have a child’s drop down bunk that is suitable for a child up to the age of 12.
Outside the stable-style doorway, there is private decking leading onto a gravelled area where each cabin has a firepit and outdoor seating area. Wood and charcoal for the firepit are available at our fishing lodge and fire-packs containing wood, kindling and firelighters can also be purchased (or pre-ordered so they are ready for you on arrival at your cabin). All fuel burnt on our firepits must be purchased from the lodge. The firepits have a BBQ grill and cooking tripod attachment and we request that these are used for BBQ purposes – no private BBQs are to be brought onto the site.
On your firepit area there is a BBQ locker (the key for which is on the accommodation keyring). In here is all the equipment that you may require for BBQing – including our cooking tripod and bowl, grill lifters, fire gauntlet, tongs, ash bucket and trowel, sand (the firepit works best if a layer of sand is in the bottom), and BBQ cooking equipment. This locker is also used for log storage, and any pre-ordered packs are left in here for guests.
A foldaway table and chairs for dining are provided.
In all cabins we provide bird spotting and stargazing guides as well as a OS explorer maps of the area so you can make the most of the wildlife, stars and walking in the area.
We also have secure storage for bicycles on site (bring your own locks and using this facility is at your own risk). If you plan to arrive on a bike or on foot we will offer you the fully ‘Furnished’ cabin at the ‘Cabin only’ rate!
Children’s play area
We also have a children’s play area on site for our guests to enjoy. This is suitable for children between approximately 3 and 12 years old. It has been designed and built by Langley Furniture Works and follows our nautical theme – the play area includes a cargo net, slide, balance beams, small boat and raised boat platform for fantastic imaginative pirate play!!
The play area is situated nearest to the Wheatley’s cabin so this may be the best choice if you have small children in your party (or not if you don’t?!).

Breakfast packs / burgers
Breakfast packs are available for guests – these must be pre-ordered and are ready in your cabin on arrival. We have ‘Full English’ breakfast option – per person this includes 2 rashers of back bacon and 2 pork sausages from our local butchers in Haydon Bridge, tomato, mushrooms, home produced egg, bread, milk, butter, home made marmalade and tea, freshly ground coffee and sugar. Our vegetarian or lighter breakfast option includes a grapefruit, cereal (cornflakes or porridge), bread, butter, marmalade, milk, tea, freshly ground coffee and sugar. Please contact us if you have any queries regarding food allergies before you book a breakfast pack.’
‘We also sell our own Belted Galloway burgers when available – they are in packs of 4 and are fantastic cooked on the BBQ. These can either be pre-ordered at the time of booking, or just ask when you are staying with us and we can deliver them to your cabin. We also sometimes have steak (sirloin, rump and occasionally fillet) available – so it’s always worth asking if you fancy some exceptional home-reared, grass fed beef for your supper!
