Just got back from an amazing weekend at Langley with our daughter and dog, we had a bumpy start but that was a total fluke of nature and no one could be blamed, but Jo, Ben and Colin were on hand to sort immediately! Amazing, cosy cabins and you need cosy when it’s well below zero outside! Such a great location and we all enjoyed our walks through the forest and round the fishing lake. Fire pit was very much welcome and cooked our steaks to perfection (well I’m taking credit for that part). We all decided after about an hour of being here that we are going to make this an annual pre Christmas trip. Can’t wait to return!

Thanks so much for coming to stay and we are so glad you enjoyed it despite the weather and the plumbing!! Look forward to seeing you again in 2023! Have a great New Year! Jo and Ben

We’ve just had a wonderful weekend in the Blackcleugh, the freezing weather caused a couple of hiccups at the start of our stay but these were dealt with immediately by Jo and Ben and they did not affect our stay at all. Despite temperatures of -3°c the cabin was warm and cosy and was a delight to stay in for the weekend. We will definitely be back.

What a wonderful spot! The pods are immaculate and so well designed. Despite staying for two storms, you would never know as the pods as cosy and warm and so well insulated you could barely hear the wind! I would definitely recommend this place! Thank you!

So glad you enjoyed your stay with us - you definitely didn't have the best weather for sure!! But the view will have been dramatic! Hopefully see you again soon.
Five stars! We had a truly wonderful short break at Langley Dam Glamping in October. Just what was needed to shake off some of the dust from the last year. Jo was great to deal with, a lovely lady who was really responsive to any requests. And the meat was delicious! It's a wonderful place, so much thought, hard work and love has gone into every little detail. We have run our own eco holiday business for almost 20 years and know personally how much graft goes into it. Well done, a wonderful achievement and great place to get away to! We will be back. Wonderful four day break, the pods are in a beautiful setting, sunsets were spectacular. We stayed in The Rushy Lot pod which was spotlessly clean and well equipped. I would highly recommend Langley Glamping and we will definitely be back.

Stayed here in September 2021 - booked 2 pods - one for my partner and I and the other for my Son and his girlfriend. After making a couple of enquiries I suspected there may be a few too many restrictions/rules that would stifle our stay - can't bring your own BBQ due to fire risk assessment, no dogs round the lake etc. We needn't have worried, it was absolutely charming. Jo is lovely and friendly and very helpful and the setting is just stunning. Had a wonderful BBQ over the firepit first night and excellent Tapas at Cilantro in Hexham the second night. The pods are superb and the view from them just chills you right out. A couple of bits and bobs - it says no dogs around the lake as they disturb the fishermen. Could guests not walk their dogs around the water out of fishing hours? Walking them off site means encountering roads with no pavements so it wasn't very appealing. Also, couldn't bring any other cooking equipment on site. We normally take a single ring portable gas hob that we knock breakfast up on. This is cooked outside and normally by me when everyone else is still sleeping. This wasn't allowed but would've saved a lot of mess and smells within the pod and allowed others to remain undisturbed. None of the above points detracted from our stay as it was simply perfect and enjoyed by us all. We will definitely be back but for more than two nights. Thank you - Tony, Jools, James and Sophie

Thanks for your feedback Tony, and glad you enjoyed the stay. We try to be clear in our rules - balancing the fishery business and stock farming as well as the glamping is a tricky business. Dogs must be on leads around the lake, but we do allow glampers to walk them around... they are not allowed off the lead because of sheep in the field (which there is most of the time) and for their own safety (fishing hooks in dogs is very unpleasant)... fishermen are not allowed to bring their dogs with them (hence the signs). The beautiful woodland across the road is 5 mins walk away and glampers are welcome to explore there (can't do much about the road, but it's not a busy one!). Re the cooking facilities... I'm afraid we won't be altering these rules... our fire assessment does not accommodate the guests bringing their own BBQ/gas equipment - no gas bottles are allowed on site. We also rely on the sale of charcoal and wood to help sustain the business. Next time you'll just have to get up early and BBQ your breakfast over charcoal! (which many people do!) .... Look forward to seeing you again soon, Jo and Ben

Wow! Where do we start? This place is incredible. Everything from our first enquiry to locking up our pod and reluctantly driving away was just superb. Immaculately clean, every detail was thought of and our 5 days in this little part of paradise we’re just wonderful. Jo and her family were great hosts, stopping by to say hi and checking all was well, Patrick her son gave my little boy a brilliant first fishing lesson (highly recommended!) and was very knowledgeable about everything he was asked. The play area was great and well used by our 6 year old- especially the rope swing, and the walk around the dam is a lovely way to spend half an hour. We ordered a breakfast pack and burgers which were exceptional. I cannot rate Langley Dam Glamping highly enough and we can’t wait to return.

First time in staying in a pod and exceeded all my expectations and more, more than luxury, it’s like taking your home away and fitting it into a pod. Peaceful and tranquil. Thank you for all that you provided and how well designed the pods were. I will return for more stays in the future. :-)

Had an excellent 3 night stay in July 2021. Cabin was spotlessly clean and hosts were very welcoming. A beautiful setting and lots to do in the surrounding area. I will definitely be back and many of my friends have asked about the location. Very quiet and undisturbed, and only a very short distance from local visitor attractions. One of the best holidays I’ve ever had. Thank you.

Had a fabulous long weekend at Langley Dam Glamping, stunning landscape, beautiful location, situated away from the bustle of life, easy to relax there and forget the world. Longboat cabins are snug but spacious, well equipped and fire pit a great added bonus. Like that it is a small site and unspoiled. We loved every minute of being there and will definitely be back! Thanks for the great hospitality Jo.

We had a lovely visit to Langley Dam and will definitely be back. What a simply stunning spot. Everything we needed for a comfortable weekend away in Bare Bones and the children will remember the rope swing forever! A great little holiday close to home but felt a million miles away. thank you!

Just spent a 2 night break at Langley Glamping. Beautiful, peaceful location with well spaced lodgings which are cosy and well equipped. We stayed with our toddler and there was plenty of room. She loved the little play area which added to the excitement for her of staying in such a quirky lodge. Loved the fact that it is a small site with only 6 cabins. Can definitely recommend and we will be going back!

We had a lovely stay in July at the pods, Lovely and peaceful and the pods are 1st class. Fire pit and BBQ were great and the steak from Jo's farm was delicious. We had our 2 Grandsons with us and they had a great time. We are booked for October again, this time with all the family so keeping our fingers crossed that we can go #Covid 19 as everyone is really looking forward to it.. Jo was a lovey host. and the location was perfect.

We had a great stay in the Wheatley, the location is so peaceful and picturesque (in all weathers...we had sun, rain and wind at different times!) The pods are very luxurious and have everything we needed for a cosy family break. We had happy memories of my parents staying in the accessible cabin almost two years ago and it was great to return to this lovely site and do some of the lovely walks around the area and just enjoy sitting outside the pod. Jo was very friendly and quick to respond to any queries. Thank you : )

Thanks for coming to stay Liane, it was great to have your family back with us, recalling lovely memories of your parents stay with us - we often think of them as they were the first people to make use of our wheelchair accessible cabin to it’s full extent . Glad you enjoyed it despite the typical British summer weather- hopefully see you again soon!!

Thank you for a lovely stay in the ‘Rushy Lot’. Great cabin.Clean and comfy for 4 adults.Fire pit was an extra bonus. The site is so peaceful and all the cabins have a beautiful outlook and don’t feel crammed in. Lots to do in the area and some nice walks. We’d love to come back and would recommend Langley Glamping.

Our 2nd stay in 2 months in the Blackcleugh cabin. This time we brought our 8 yr old Godson. We all spent two lovely days outdoors here. Back soon for sure.
Chris Dolman & family from Leeds
Our family of 5 had a wonderful weekend in the Blackcleugh cabin. It is really well laid out and equipped with everything you need - the children loved it, especially the bunk bed! The outside play area is ideal for active boys, whilst the BBQ and fire pit meant everyone got involved. Set in such a wonderful location there was something for us all to enjoy.

Two seniors, one adult, two boys(6 and 11) and a dog spent two brilliant nights in our 'Hobbit house' !!!! The youngest declared he wanted to stay glamping forever! The accommodation is really well designed, equiped and cosy, while the play area great for very energetic boys. Such a beautiful area. Thanks Jo for helping to create lovely memories.

We stayed on Saturday 23rd March with our two young children aged 6 and 3. The Backcleugh cabin was great, the kids loved it. They loved playing in the small play area (which was right outside the front) and exploring around the dam. There is a small beck outside the cabins so next time we will take wellies! We found the fire pit and cooking pot great. We will definitely return.
